Choose an India tourist eVisa around your intended visits, not just the largest number of years on the label. A visa's validity is different from permission to remain in India continuously. Check the options available for your actual passport in the current official application selector before paying.
This comparison addresses the 30-day, one-year and five-year tourist options listed by the official portal. It is not a complete list of every passport-specific category and does not replace the conditions on an issued authorization.
Compare the planning questions
| Option | When to examine it | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| 30-day tourist eVisa | A short visit whose actual dates fit the relevant entry and stay conditions | The first-entry window and stay period need separate checking |
| One-year tourist eVisa | Repeated tourism visits within a year | A year of validity is not a year of continuous residence |
| Five-year tourist eVisa | Repeated tourism visits over a longer period | Multiple-year validity does not remove visit or annual stay limits |
The official guidance describes the one-year and five-year options as valid from the grant date and publishes an annual stay limit for those variants. Do not calculate your allowed stay by adding a year or five years to the date of arrival. Read the actual permission and current instructions for the selected category.
Start with three dates
Write down your proposed first arrival, intended departure and any later India visits already planned. Then compare those dates with the product's rules. An earlier grant date can matter differently from the first entry date, so “I will apply now and travel sometime next year” needs a date check rather than a guess.
For illustration, a traveler planning one two-week holiday is making a different purchase decision from someone planning three separate holidays across several years. The longer variant may deserve consideration in the second case, but availability, entry conditions and charges still need checking. These are planning examples, not a recommendation that every repeat traveler qualifies for a particular visa.
Do not confuse entry count with stay length
Entry count answers how the permission can be used for repeated arrivals. A stay limit answers how long you may remain. Neither should be inferred solely from a booking or a private agency's short product label.
Before confirming a selection, compare its name and description with the official category and the itinerary. If an older guide gives different entry counts from the current portal, use the current authority instructions and issued document. Do not rely on an outdated comparison table to decide that an additional trip is covered.
When a tourist product is the wrong starting point
If the purpose involves employment, study or another activity outside the tourist conditions, buying a longer tourist eVisa does not resolve that problem. Use the relevant purpose-specific guidance and authority route. Our requirements overview helps you start that check.
If you already have a valid authorization, inspect its dates and conditions before paying for a replacement. A new travel plan does not automatically mean a new visa is required.
Check price and preparation timing after choosing the route
Use the fee page for this service's current charges; do not treat a private service total as the official government fee. A longer product should be a considered choice rather than an automatic upsell.
For a new eligible assisted application, Urgent handling within 5 business hours adds US$69.99 per applicant. It prioritizes our preparation and submission, not the authority's decision. The official minimum advance-application window still applies. Read the processing FAQ before starting with Urgent handling.
